CORDIL 5MG TABLET contains Nicorandil which belongs to the group of medicines called Potassium channel activators. It is used in adults to prevent and reduce painful signs of angina pectoris who cannot take heart medicines called beta-blockers or calcium antagonists.

Angina pectoris is a type of temporary chest pain or discomfort which occurs as a result of decreased blood flow to the heart muscle it is usually not a heart attack but a sign of increased risk for heart attack that is generally characterized by symptoms such as squeezing pressure, heaviness, tightness or pain in the chest that can occur suddenly or recur over time.

Avoid consumption of alcohol during treatment with CORDIL 5MG TABLET as it may reduce your blood pressure even more.

CORDIL 5MG TABLET is not recommended for use in patients with severely low blood pressure, low blood volume, or heart problems (such as cardiogenic shock, left ventricular failure with low filling pressure or cardiac decompensation).

USES OF CORDIL 5MG TABLET :

  • To prevent and reduce painful signs of angina pectoris in adults

HOW CORDIL 5MG TABLET WORKS:

    CORDIL 5MG TABLET works by increasing blood flow through the heart vessels, leading to improved blood and oxygen supply to the heart muscle thus reducing the workload of the heart which results in reducing the frequency and severity of angina attacks.

SIDE EFFECTS OF CORDIL 5MG TABLET:

    RARE

  • Rash
  • Itching
  • Muscle pain not caused by exercise
  • Stop taking CORDIL 5MG TABLET and contact your doctor immediately if you experience any of the following side effects:

  • Red, itchy, swollen or watery eyes including inflammation or ulcer in cornea or conjunctiva (parts of the eye)
  • Signs of ulcers in the mouth, stomach, large and small intestine or anus such as blood in stools, vomit, fistula (abnormal opening between organs), abscess (pus collection at the infected site), and weight loss
  • Signs of diverticular disease (infected colon) such as ulcers in the skin, genital tract, and nasal passages or around a stoma (artificial opening for waste removal)
