COSALA OD 1.2GM TABLET contains Mesalamine which belongs to the group of medicines called Salicylates. COSALA OD 1.2GM TABLET is used to treat and prevent mild to moderate ulcerative colitis (a chronic inflammatory bowel disease) in affected individuals. COSALA OD 1.2GM TABLET is also used to reduce symptoms of ulcerative colitis which generally occurs as diarrhoea, rectal bleeding, and/or stomach pain in affected individuals.

COSALA OD 1.2GM TABLET is not recommended for use in patients allergic to Mesalamine, salicylates (such as acetylsalicylic acid), and/or sulphasalazine. It is also not recommended for use in patients with serious kidney/liver disease. Before taking [GBKEYWORD], inform your doctor if you have narrowing/blockage of the stomach/gut, lung problems, and/or mild to moderate kidney/liver problems.

COSALA OD 1.2GM TABLET should be used with caution in pregnant and breastfeeding women only if it is necessary. COSALA OD 1.2GM TABLET is not recommended for use in children and adolescents aged below 18 years (due to a lack of data on the safety and efficacy of the medicine). It is advised to be used with caution in elderly patients (aged above 65 years) after consulting the doctor.

The most common side effects of taking COSALA OD 1.2GM TABLET are indigestion, abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, headache, itching, and/or rash. Consult your doctor if any of these symptoms worsen.
