DSERIN contain diacerein which belongs to a group of medicine called anthraquinones. It is used for symptomatic treatment of osteoarthritis. Osteoarthritis is a disease characterized by degeneration of cartilage and its underlying bones within a joint as well as bony overgrowth. The breakdown of these tissue eventually leads to pain and joint stiffness. The joints most affected are the knees, hips, and those in the hands and spine.

It works by building cartilage (soft connective tissue around the joints) leading to joint repair. It also lowers pain and inflammation (swelling). The common side effects are diarrhoea, soft stools, abdominal pain, frequent bowel movements, flatulence, skin effects such as rash, itching, eczema.

Always take DSERIN exactly as your doctor has told you. This medicine must be taken with food and try to take at the same time each day. It is not recommended for use in children and adolescents under 15 years. Consumption of alcohol is not recommended during treatment with this medicine.
