ESOAID 40 TABLET contains Esomeprazole which belongs to the group of medicines called Proton pump inhibitors. It is used for the treatment of Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) heartburn in adults and in adolescents above 12 years of age. ESOAID 40 TABLET also helps in treating stomach ulcers or upper part of the gut (intestine) that are infected with Helicobacter pylori bacteria and Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs (NSAIDs) medicines in adults and in adolescents above 12 years of age. It is also used to treat Zollinger-Ellison syndrome (too much acid produced in the stomach caused by a growth in the pancreas).

GERD is a disease where acid from the stomach escapes into the tube which connects your throat to your stomach (oesophagus) causing pain and inflammation.

ESOAID 40 TABLET is not recommended to be taken in patients with severe kidney and liver failure. ESOAID 40 TABLET should be taken only if considered clearly necessary by your doctor in pregnant women. It is not recommended for use in breast-feeding women. Consult your doctor for advice before taking the medicine.

ESOAID 40 TABLET is not recommended for children and adolescents aged less than 12 years. Consult your doctor for advice before taking the medicine.

The most common side effects of taking ESOAID 40 TABLET are headache, diarrhoea, stomach pain, constipation, flatulence, nausea and vomiting. Contact your physician if any of the above symptoms worsens with time.
