ESOPEL D contains domperidone and esomeprazole

Esopen DSR Capsule is a combination drug used to treat gastroesophageal reflux complaints (Acid reflux) and peptic ulcer complaints by relieving the symptoms of acidity similar to heartburn, stomach pain, or vexation. It also neutralizes the acid and promotes easy passage of gas to reduce stomach discomfort.

Esopen DSR Capsule is taken with or without food in a cure and duration as advised by the croaker. The cure you're given will depend on your condition and how you respond to the drug. You should keep taking this drug for as long as your croaker recommends. If you stop treatment too beforehand your symptoms may come back and your condition may worsen. Let your healthcare platoon know about all other specifics you're taking as some may affect, or be affected by this drug.

The most common side goods are stomach pain, diarrhea, constipation, headache, flatulence, weakness, and increased slaver product. Utmost of these are temporary and generally resolve with time. Communicate your croaker straight down if you're at all concerned about any of these side goods. This drug may beget dizziness and somnolence, so don't drive or do anything that requires internal focus until you know how this drug affects you. Therapeutic Uses

  • Gastro-oesophageal reflux disease’ (GORD), a condition in which the acid from the stomach escapes into the gullet (the tube which connects your throat to your stomach) causing pain, inflammation and heartburn
  • Ulcers in the stomach or upper part of the gut (intestine)
  • Zollinger-Ellison syndrome

Warning & Precautions

  • Are allergic to domperidone, esomeprazole or any of the other ingredients of this medicine
  • Have severe liver or kidney problems
  • Have a blockage in your intestines
  • Have heart problems
  • Have a medical condition that alters the potassium level in blood
  • Have osteoporosis
  • Talk to your doctor before taking ESOPEL D if you are pregnant, might become pregnant or think you may be pregnant or are breast feeding
  • You may feel sleepy, dizziness, confused, blurred vision or have less control over your movements while taking ESOPEL D
  • If this happens, do not drive or use any tools or machines

Interactions

  • Ketoconazole, fluconazole or voriconazole used for fungal infections
  • Phenytoin used to treat epilepsy
  • Warfarin used to treat and prevent blood clots
  • Erythromycin, clarithromycin, moxifloxacin used for bacterial infections
  • Amiodarone, quinidine disopyramide, sotalol, diltiazem used for heart problems or high blood pressure
  • Haloperidol, pimozide, sertindole used to treat psychoses
  • Citalopram, escitalopram, imipramine used to treat depression
  • Cisapride, dolasetron, prucalopride used to treat gastro-intestinal disorders
  • Mequitazine, mizolastine used to treat allergy
  • Halofantrine used to treat malaria
  • Toremifene, vincamine, erlotinib used to treat cancer
  • Atazanavir used to treat HIV
  • Cilostazol (used to treat intermittent claudication – a pain in your legs when you walk which is caused by an insufficient blood supply)
  • Clopidogrel used to prevent blood clots
  • Digoxin used for heart problems
  • Tacrolimus, methotrexate used to reduce the immune response
  • Rifampicin used for treatment of tuberculosis

Directions & For Use

  • Always take this medicine exactly as your doctor has told you
  • You can take ESOPEL D after food or on an empty stomach
  • Swallow ESOPEL D whole with a drink of water
  • Do not chew or crush this medicine
  • If you have taken more ESOPEL D, contact your doctor immediately
  • If you miss a dose, take your medicine as soon as you remember
  • Do not take a double dose to make up for a forgotten dose
  • Do not stop taking ESOPEL D until your doctor advises you to do so

Side Effects

    Like all medicines, these medicines can have side effects, although not everybody gets them.

  • Swelling of the hands, feet, ankles, face, lips or throat which may cause difficulty in swallowing or breathing, itchy, lumpy rash or nettle rash
  • Very fast or unusual heartbeat
  • Fracture of the hip, wrist, or spine (if esomeprazole is used in high doses and over long duration)
  • Headache
  • Diarrhoea, stomach pain, constipation, flatulence
  • Nausea or vomiting
  • Benign polyps in the stomach
