Therapeutic Uses

• It is used as a maintenance therapy for duodenal ulcer patients at reduced dosage after healing of an active ulcer
• It is indicated for the treatment of pathological hypersecretory conditions (e.g., Zollinger-Ellison Syndrome, multiple endocrine adenomas)
• Active duodenal ulcer
• Active benign gastric ulcer
• Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD)
• Esophagitis due to GERD including erosive or ulcerative disease diagnosed by endoscopy

Warning & Precautions

• Are allergic or hypersensitive to Famotidine or any of the other ingredients of this medicine
• Have renal insufficiency
• If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor for advice before taking this medicine
• Ask your doctor for advice before giving this medicine to your children

Interactions

• Warfarin (used to prevent blood clots)
• Theophylline (used to treat asthma)
• Phenytoin, diazepam (used to treat epilepsy)
• Aminopyrine

Directions & For Use

• FAMOCID 40MG must only be given by a doctor or nurse
• It will be given to you by a doctor or nurse, it is unlikely that you will be given too much. If you think you have been given too much, you must tell the person giving you this medicine
