What HHGLIM M2 is used for?

  • HHGLIM M2 is used to treat type 2 diabetes mellitus when diet, physical exercise and weight reduction alone have not been able to control your blood sugar levels

  • are allergic to HHGLIM M2 or to any of its ingredients
  • have a condition called metabolic acidosis, including diabetic ketoacidosis
  • have liver or kidney or heart problems
  • have insulin dependent diabetes
  • are in a diabetic coma
  • are alcoholic

  • Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant or breast feeding

  • Your ability to concentrate or react may be reduced if your blood sugar is lowered (Hypoglycemia) or raised (Hyperglycemia) or if you develop visual problems because of such conditions
  • Please ask your doctor whether you can drive a car and use machines

Tell your doctor about all the medicines you take including:

  • phenylbutazone, azopropazone, oxyphenbutazone, used to treat pain and inflammation
  • other medicines to treat diabetes mellitus (such as insulin or metformin)
  • anti-arrhythmic agents used to control abnormal heart beat such as disopyramide
  • fibrates, used to lower cholesterol level in blood
  • enalapril, used in the management of high blood pressure
  • fluoxetine
  • allopurinol, probenecid, sulfinpyrazone, used in the treatment of gout
  • certain antibiotics such as tetracyclines, chloramphenicol, fluconazole, miconazole, quinolones, clarithromycin
  • medicines to increase circulation when given in a high dose intravenous infusion (pentoxifylline)
  • levothyroxine

  • Take HHGLIM M2 exactly as prescribed
  • Your doctor will usually start you on a low dose and increase your dose slowly to control your blood sugar level
  • Swallow the medicine whole with at least half glass of water
  • Do not crush or chew the medicine
  • The dose of HHGLIM M2 depends on your needs, condition and results of blood and urine sugar tests and is determined by your doctor

If you take more HHGLIM M2

  • If you have taken too much HHGLIM M2 or an additional dose there is a danger of hypoglycaemia and therefore you should instantly consume enough sugar (e.g. a small bar of sugar cubes, sweet juice, sweetened tea) and inform a doctor immediately

If you forget to take HHGLIM M2

  • If you forget to take a dose, do not take a double dose to make up for forgotten doses

If you stop taking HHGLIM M2

  • Continue to take this medicine as long as your doctor prescribes

  • allergic reactions (including inflammation of blood vessels, often with skin rash) which may develop into serious reactions with difficulty in breathing, fall in blood pressure and sometimes progressing to shock
  • abnormal liver function including yellowing of the skin and eyes (jaundice), problems with the bile flow (cholestasis), inflammation of the liver (hepatitis) or liver failure
  • allergy (hypersensitivity) of the skin such as itching, rash, hives and increased sensitivity to sun
  • severe hypoglycaemia including loss of consciousness, seizures or coma
