KEMLACTIN SYRUP is a combination of Cyproheptadine and Tricholine Citrate, which belong to the groups of medicines called antihistamines and bile acid-binding agents, respectively. It is used to treat loss of appetite, weight loss and anorexia nervosa (an eating disorder). It is also used to treat weight gain in anti-tubercular and antiretroviral regimens.

In children, it is used for gaining weight, having an inadequate dietary intake or loss of appetite or suffering from anaemia, liver disease or digestive disorders. It is also used to treat allergic rhinitis and conjunctivitis, migraine, asthma and hepatic disorders. Appetite loss is a state in which an individual has no desire to eat food, which leads to a deficiency of essential and non-essential nutrients that are required for the proper metabolism and growth of the body.

KEMLACTIN SYRUP is not recommended for use in patients who have or had angle-closure glaucoma, stenosing peptic ulcer, symptomatic prostatic hypertrophy, bladder neck obstruction or pyloroduodenal obstruction. Alcohol should be avoided during KEMLACTIN SYRUP treatment because it may increase the KEMLACTIN SYRUP's action.

Before taking this medicine, tell your physician if you have a history of bronchial asthma, increased intraocular pressure, hyperthyroidism, cardiovascular disease, liver problems, kidney problems or hypertension.
