Uses, Side Effects, Price of MINOLIV 5mg Injection 10ml

MINOLIV 5MG contains l-ornithine-l-aspartate which belongs to the group of medicines called a hepatoprotective agent. It is used in the treatment of hepatic encephalopathy. Hepatic encephalopathy is defined as a series of neuropsychiatric abnormalities in patients with liver dysfunction, after the exclusion of brain disease. It is characterized by intellectual impairment, personality changes, and a depressed level of consciousness. MINOLIV 5MG can also be used to treat hyperammonemia as a result of acute and chronic liver diseases such as liver cirrhosis, fatty liver or hepatitis.

L-ornithine-l-aspartate is made up of two amino acids called ornithine and aspartic acid. They stimulate ammonia detoxification by increasing the synthesis of urea in the liver. Before taking this medicine, inform your doctor if you have severe liver disease, because your doctor might adjust the infusion rate on an individual basis to avoid nausea and vomiting.

This medicine must only be administered by a physician or nurse. Your doctor will decide the correct dose for you depending on your condition. Continue to take this medicine, as long as your doctor tells you to do so, to obtain better results. This medicine is well tolerated with minimal side effects. However, if you experience any unusual symptoms after taking this medicine, inform your doctor. Do not take this medicine if you have severe renal impairment. Ask your doctor for advice. If high doses of MINOLIV 5MG are used, it is important to monitor the levels of urea both in the serum and urine to avoid toxicity. Ask your doctor for advice before taking this medicine, if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

USES OF MINOLIV 5MG:

  • Treats hepatic encephalopathy.
  • Treat hyperammonemia (elevated level of ammonia in the blood) due to acute and chronic liver diseases.

HOW MINOLIV 5MG WORKS:

  • L-ornithine converts the toxic ammonia into non-toxic urea which is eliminated via the kidneys. By doing this, it lowers the elevated level of ammonia in the blood (hyperammonemia) and also helps the diseased liver to carry out its normal function smoothly (Detoxification). L-Aspartate is an important component of the citric acid cycle which liberates energy in the form of ATP, which helps in the regeneration of damaged liver cells.

SIDE EFFECTS OF MINOLIV 5MG:
