Description

Uses, Side Effects, Price of Ntg 5mg Injection

Ntg 5 mg Injection is used to treat and prevent heart-related chest pain (angina). Angina occurs when the heart muscle is not getting enough blood. This medicine works by relaxing and widening blood vessels so blood can flow more easily to the heart. It has a very short-lived effect.

Ntg 5mg Injection is given as an injection under the supervision of a doctor with careful blood pressure monitoring. This is given as a continuous infusion into a vein and should not be stopped abruptly. It should not be mixed with any other medication of any kind.

The most common side effect of Ntg 5 mg Injection is a headache which may be severe. This can sometimes be helped by drinking plenty of fluids and avoiding alcohol. You may also experience lightheadedness, which could increase your risk of having a fall. There are other, rarer side effects, some of them serious. Ask your doctor and read the leaflet which comes with the medicine to make sure you are keeping safe.

Do not use Ntg 5mg Injection if you are taking medicines to treat high blood pressure in your lungs (pulmonary hypertension), or erectile dysfunction; or if you have anaemia or glaucoma (increased pressure inside the eye). Always tell your doctor what other health conditions you have and what other medicines you are taking. It is best not to drink alcohol with this medicine as it increases some of the side effects. If you are affected by dizziness, avoid driving. If you are pregnant, thinking about becoming pregnant, or breastfeeding, ask your doctor before taking this medicine.

USES OF Ntg 5mg Injection

Benefits of Ntg 5mg Injection

In Treatment of Angina (heart-related chest pain) Ntg 5mg Injection helps in prevention as well as treatment of angina. Angina is a chest pain that is usually caused by narrowing of the blood vessels which supply your heart. This means your heart does not get enough oxygen. Ntg 5mg Injection works quickly to relax the muscles and blood vessels in your heart so more blood (and oxygen) gets to your heart. This reduces the pain and discomfort that angina causes. You should take this medicine at the first sign of chest pain. If the first tablet does not work, you can take a second tablet after 5 minutes. However, if your chest pain does not go away after 15 minutes, you should get urgent medical attention. This could be a sign of a heart attack. Ntg 5mg Injection also helps prevent chest pain if taken before exercising or doing other strenuous activities.

FAQ:

Q. Does the effect of Ntg 5mg Injection wear off after some time? Yes, excessive use of Ntg 5mg Injection may cause tolerance which means that Ntg 5mg Injection may lose its effectiveness on you. Therefore, doctors usually prescribe the smallest dose required for effective relief of acute angina attacks. Also, it is usually prescribed in morning and afternoon doses to give a nitrate-free interval. Take it strictly as per the dosing interval prescribed by your doctor to prevent tolerance and maintain the effectiveness of Ntg 5mg Injection.

Q. What effect does Ntg 5mg Injection have on blood pressure? Ntg 5mg Injection slightly decreases the blood pressure by relaxing the blood vessels, but is not recommended for the treatment of high blood pressure. The drop in blood pressure may cause lightheadedness, especially when changing your position suddenly. You should avoid sudden change in your position, for eg, get up slowly if you are sitting or lying down, to minimise this side effect.

Q. What does too much Ntg 5mg Injection do? Excess Ntg 5mg Injection may result in low blood pressure, sweating, nausea, vomiting, headache, weak and fast pulse. It may also cause weakness, lightheadedness in standing and the patient might even faint. The patient will require emergency medical treatment in such a case.
