PENTASA 1 GM SUPPOSITORY contains mesalamine (mesalazine) which belongs to the group of drugs called salicylates. It's an anti-inflammatory medicine used to treat ulcerative colitis. Ulcerative colitis is an seditious bowel complaint where the filling of the bowel, colon and rectum are inflamed.

PENTASA 1 GM SUPPOSITORY acts locally in the colon and rectum and reduces inflammation. It can also help prevent further occurrences ( flares) of ulcerative colitis.
