What POZITIV 7.5MG is used for?

It is used to treat:

  • type 2 (non-insulin dependent) diabetes mellitus in adults, when metformin is not suitable or has failed to work adequately

Talk to your doctor before taking POZITIV 7.5MG, if you:

  • are allergic to any of the ingredients of POZITIV 7.5MG
  • have heart problems
  • have liver or eye disease
  • have had diabetic ketoacidosis
  • have bladder cancer
  • have fluid retention
  • have cysts in your ovaries (polycystic ovary syndrome)
  • have weak bones

Tell your doctor if you are taking,

  • gemfibrozil (used to lower cholesterol)
  • rifampicin (used to treat tuberculosis and other infections)
  • other medicines used to treat diabetes (such as insulin, chlorpropamide, glibenclamide, gliclazide, tolbutamide)

  • Always take this medicine exactly as your doctor has told you
  • The usual starting dose is one tablet of 15 mg or of 30 mg of POZITIV 7.5MG to be taken once daily
  • If you are following a special diet for diabetes, you should continue with this while you are taking POZITIV 7.5MG
  • Your weight should be checked at regular intervals; if your weight increases, inform your doctor

If you take more POZITIV 7.5MG

  • If you accidentally take too many tablets, talk to a doctor immediately
  • Your blood sugar could fall below the normal level 

If you forget to take POZITIV 7.5MG

  • If you miss a dose, just carry on with the next dose as normal
  • Do not take a double dose to make up for a forgotten tablet

If you stop taking POZITIV 7.5MG

  • Talk to your doctor before stopping this treatment
