PULMOVAX must only be given by a doctor or nurse
What PULMOVAX is used for?:
- It is used in children and Adults from 6 weeks to 18 years to protect against diseases such as meningitis (inflammation around the brain), sepsis or bacteraemia (bacteria in the blood stream), pneumonia (lung infection) and ear infections caused by 13 types of the bacteria called Streptococcus pneumoniae
Interactions of Pulmovax 23 Vaccine :
Has recently taken or might take any other medicines or has recently received any other vaccine
Side Effects of Pulmovax 23 Vaccine :
Difficulty in breathing
Collapse
- face swelling
- skin going blue
- Low blood pressure
- Difficulty breathing
- Loss of consciousness
Storage :
Store at room temperature between 25 to 30°C.
Caution :
- Keep out of reach of children.
- Keep away from direct sunlight.
Warning & Precautions
Are allergic to PPV, or any of the other ingredients of this medicine or to any other vaccine that contains diphtheria toxoid
Have severe infection with a high temperature
Have bleeding problems or bruises easily
Have weakened immune system (such as due to HIV infection)
Have experienced seizures
Have a low resistance to infections because of a course of treatment (such as drugs or radiation treatment for cancer)
Have a longstanding illness or an infection that may have lowered resistance to pneumococcal infections
