ROLSICAL 3MCG contains Calcitriol which belongs to the class of medications called vitamin D analogs. It is indicated for the topical treatment of mild to moderate plaque psoriasis. Psoriasis is a chronic skin condition in which skin cells buildup rapidly resulting in scaling on the surface of the skin. Normally the growth of skin cells is deeper and rises slowly to the surface. But in psoriatic patients this production occurs rapidly where skin cells don’t have time to fall off. This rapid production results in scaling on the skin’s surface due to accumulation of these skin cells.

Calcitriol, by decreasing the activity of immune cells in the skin and by stopping the production of extra skin cells which results in scaly skin helps in the treatment of psoriasis. This medicine is recommended for children and adolescents above 18 years of age. It should not be applied to the eyes, lips, or facial skin.
