SZETALO 5 TABLET contains Escitalopram which belongs to the group of medicines called Selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs). It is used to treat depression (major depressive episodes) and anxiety disorders (such as panic disorder with or without agoraphobia, social anxiety disorder, generalised anxiety disorder and obsessive-compulsive disorder).

SZETALO 5 TABLET should be used with caution in patients with liver or kidney disease, epilepsy, diabetes, decreased sodium levels in the blood or if you frequently get injuries or bleed easily (history of bleeding issues), are undergoing electroconvulsive therapy, coronary heart disease, recently had a heart attack, low resting or irregular heart rate and glaucoma.

It is not recommended for use in patients born with or have heart problems (such as irregular heart rhythms). Avoid consumption of alcohol while taking SZETALO 5 TABLET. SZETALO 5 TABLET is not recommended for use in pregnant and breast-feeding women, unless it is clearly advised by the doctor.

SZETALO 5 TABLET is not recommended for use in children and adolescents (under 18 years of age) unless advised by the doctor. SZETALO 5 TABLET should be used with caution in elderly patients (aged 65 years and above).

• Nausea, headache
• Runny or blocked nose (sinusitis)
• Decrease or increase in appetite
• Anxiety, restlessness, strange dreams, difficulty falling asleep, sleepiness, dizziness, yawning, shaking and prickling of the skin
