You should not be self-administered this vaccine at home. It is recommended for travelers to areas where a recognized risk of exposure to typhoid exists. Its effectiveness lasts for around 3 years from the time of vaccination. Booster injection is required every 3 years to provide continued immunity. Some common side effects of this medicine include injection site reactions (such as pain, swelling, redness), malaise, headache, nausea, and diarrhea.
